ICE agents detain Ecuadorian fugitive Xavier Jordán at NW 58th Street and NW 84 Avenue in Doral

Masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained Ecuadorian political fugitive Xavier Jordán at NW 58th Street and NW 84 Avenue in Doral, according to video circulating Wednesday on X and Instagram.
The footage, first posted to Instagram by Que Pasa En Doral, showed masked ICE agents taking Jordán into custody at the intersection. ICE did not release details of the arrest when the video appeared.
Ecuadorian prosecutors accuse Jordán of financing the 2023 assassination of former presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio. Prosecutors in Ecuador ordered his pretrial detention in September 2025 as they pursued charges over the killing. The killing disrupted Ecuador’s presidential race.
Villavicencio was shot and killed in August 2023 after leaving a campaign event in Quito. His murder prompted an investigation into the candidates, financiers and armed groups suspected of involvement.
Jordán had been identified by Ecuadorian authorities as a wanted figure in that case before his detention in South Florida. The video was the first public indication that ICE had located him in the Miami area.
ICE did not immediately provide further details on whether Jordán was being held for removal proceedings or for transfer related to the Ecuadorian investigation.
