Michelin-favorite COTOA will close its original North Miami location this month and reopen Oct. 22 at 1111 NE 125th St.

Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized Ecuadorian restaurant COTOA is closing its original North Miami location this month and moving to a larger space just minutes away. The new address is 1111 NE 125th St., Suite 200, and the restaurant is scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 22.
Chef Alejandra Espinoza opened COTOA's first standalone restaurant in April 2025. The new location will have 80 seats, including a 60-seat dining room, a 10-seat bar and an eight-seat private dining room called TOA. Espinoza said the larger space will give her room to explore Ecuadorian food and culture further, with Ecuadorian artwork displayed throughout the restaurant.
The kitchen expansion will allow COTOA to add new dishes to the menu while keeping existing signatures. Favorites from the original menu include the Pan de Yuca, Mahi Mahi Manicero and Cevichocho, a lupini bean ceviche. Bartender James MacInnes is developing a new cocktail menu for the relocated restaurant.
Espinoza appears in Season 2 of the Apple TV series "Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars," which follows chefs pursuing Michelin recognition. She is also working on a cookbook focused on Ecuadorian ingredients, recipes, people and culinary traditions, and a podcast exploring the country's food culture.
Hours at the new location will be Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Reservations are available through COTOA's website.
