Former Boho Miami venue in Edgewater reopens as open-air nightclub AIRE with four-night weekly schedule

AIRE, an open-air nightclub and lounge, opened at 111 NE 20th Street in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood. It takes over the space where Boho Miami operated for six years before closing. The new venue held a public preview on Thursday, September 24, with local DJs, followed by guest performances from Gab Rhome on Friday, September 25, and Steve Lawler's Pendulum party on Saturday, September 26.

AIRE's regular schedule began Wednesday, September 30. The venue will operate Wednesdays through Saturdays for guests 21 and older. Owner Jorge Moreno said the team wanted to move away from the style associated with the former tenant.

“Boho had a great six years, but the bohemian aesthetic became one of the most borrowed looks in hospitality,” Moreno said. “When a look becomes that familiar, the honest move is to stop repeating it rather than ride it down.”

Moreno is leading the project with Louis Puig, who created Club Space, and partners Aramis Lorie, Travis Rogers and John Fortini. The group kept the site's open-air layout and added a new bar, moved the DJ booth and updated the menu and décor.

The music program will center on deep, rhythmic and soulful house and electronic music. Resident DJs and visiting acts will rotate through the calendar, with each night's bill setting the tone.

Wednesday nights will include collaborations with groups such as Pitch Park and Afrotek. Thursdays will feature a Ladies' Night with complimentary drinks for women until midnight. Fridays and Saturdays will feature rotating promoters and established DJs.

Boho Miami closed after six years at the address, ending its run with a final series of parties the week before AIRE's preview. AIRE keeps the same outdoor dance floor under a new name.
